Just checked, it looks like you will have to do the transferring. Easiest would be to walk a few blocks east to the blue line. Take that towards old town, and at old town transfer to green.

Yes, the special event service train runs from Qualcomm all the way downtown to one stop beyond Gaslamp. On a regular day you would have to take the orange line to the blue line (towards Old Town) Then get on the Green which drops at the stadium.
